is there a way to use a different codec for S&Q mode?: Sony Alpha Full Frame E-mount Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review (2024)

So I am currently using the 'HS' codec for normal movie mode, though I may switch to the 'S' codec at some point, I'm still testing. However in either case, I'm using 4k.

However in S&Q mode (or for whenever I do slow motion) I need to change to 'S' because I -also- need to change from 4k to 1080p... however it doesn't seem to automatically switch when I set to S&Q?

So I have to switch to S&Q... and then still go into the menu and manually change the codec anyway (for 4k to 1080). So I'm not really sure on the benefit of the S&Q dial.

Is there a way to auto switch the settings? Not sure why S&Q exists, I assumed it would quick-swap between movie settings and slo-mo settings, but it doesn't really do that (if you shoot 4k in movie, it'll also default to 4k for slo-mo, even though it doesn't really support it).
